Materials

UPPER: OILED LEATHER
Oiled leather can be recognized by its untreated surface. BIRKENSTOCK purposely does not treat surface grains and other characteristic features. BIRKENSTOCK uses sturdy leather with a thickness of 2.8 to 3.2 millimeters as upper material. The upper is made from high-quality, untreated cowhide and natural leather. Thanks to the natural color gradient of the hides, no two shoes are the same. You are buying a unique item, with even the right and left shoes exhibiting differences in coloring.

INSOLE: SUEDE
The flexible leather lining, which is gentle on the skin, nestles up softly against your foot and adjusts to its contour. The open-pored and thus very breathable surface makes for a comfortable foot climate, even during more strenuous physical activity.

FOOTBED MATERIAL: CORK
Cork is a sustainable material extracted from the bark layer of the cork oak. This natural product is insulating and offers very good cushioning.

OUTSOLE: EVA
EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) is a high-quality, very light, elastic material with extremely good cushioning. As a result, it smooths out slight irregularities in the floor and ensures that every step is softly cushioned.

London Oiled Leather-rip off

EXTREME CASE OF FALSE ADVERTISING

On the 25th of June 2022 I see on social media i.e. Instagram that Birkenstock is having an "up to 50% OFF Online & In Store" . I then go to the online store to see what they have in stock. I find the London Oiled Leather going for R1450, (Its still showing at that price now on the 28th) so, I then decided to buy two pairs for myself and my brother. Since it says 'In store' i went to Canal Walk Mall to buy the two pairs, but now at the store, they are saying that the sale does not apply to them.

Then I go home to try to order them online. When I add them to my cart they are now added at their full price of R2999. So I then try to email and call customer service and they said that Only the narrow version was on sale, but that is not what I saw on the website - the website also had the regular version on sale.

I'm really not impressed by how I have been deceived by the company.
I want what I saw, as they are STILL R1450 right now on the 28th.
