FIND YOUR PERFECT PAIR OF SANDALS

A well-fitted BIRKENSTOCK doesn’t just look good – it supports your body from the ground up.

Whether you’re new to the brand or looking to refine your fit, our step-by-step guide makes it easy to find your match.

WHY FIT MATTERS:

The perfect fit does more than feel good. It helps:

  • Promote foot health through even weight distribution.
  • Support natural posture by aligning your foot correctly.
  • Maximise cushioning with proper heel and arch placement.
  • Prevent discomfort from pressure points or friction.

MEASURING YOUR FOOT.

Getting your ideal BIRKENSTOCK fit is easy. Just follow these simple steps to find your ideal fit.

PRO TIPS:

  • Measure your larger foot – it’s normal for one to be slightly bigger or longer.
  • Measure in the evening for accurate measurements as feet tend to expand throughout the day.
  • Use a pencil or ballpoint pen for accuracy – thick markers can throw off your measurements.
  • You can also make use of our printable sizing template for easier measurement.

STEP-BY-STEP:

MEASURING YOUR FOOT.

TO BEGIN:

Stand straight, with your foot on a sheet of paper and your heels against the wall.

MEASURE WIDTH:

Mark the inner and outer sides of the ball of your foot.

MEASURE LENGTH:

Mark in front of the longest toe on your foot on the paper.

FITTING YOUR SANDAL.

A good fit means the footbed does the work – not your feet. Here’s how to make sure your BIRKENSTOCKS fit just right.

PRO TIPS:

  • Loosen all the straps before you begin for a true fit.
  • Stand upright while checking foot placement.
  • BIRKENSTOCK offers Regular and Narrow footbeds – be sure to choose the one that suits you best.

STEP-BY-STEP:

FIND YOUR FIT.

TOO SMALL:

Toes touching or hanging over the edge?
Try the next size up.

TOO BIG:

If your toes or heel are more than 10 mm from the edge, you may need a smaller size.

TOO NARROW:

If your toes or the ball of your foot spill over the sides, try a Regular fit.

ADJUSTING STRAPS.

Take a few steps to test the fit – your foot should feel secure, with room to move naturally. Adjust as needed.

STEP-BY-STEP:

ADJUST YOUR STRAPS.

LOWER STRAP:

Leave about 5mm between the strap and the top of your foot.

UPPER STRAP:

Allow roughly 10mm of space across the bridge of your foot.
