The BIRKENSTOCK Gizeh is a true classic that combines optimal support with a minimalist, fashionable design. The Big Buckle variant features a large, elegant pin buckle - a great, striking eye-catcher on the otherwise simple sandal. The cover sole of the semi-exquisite footbed is covered with soft, smooth leather and is colour-coordinated with the shoe. The upper is made of particularly thick, oiled nubuck leather with an open-edged finish.

Materials

UPPER: OILED/NUBUCK
Oiled leather can be recognized by its untreated surface. BIRKENSTOCK purposely does not treat surface grains and other characteristic features. BIRKENSTOCK uses sturdy leather with a thickness of 2.8 to 3.2 millimeters as upper material. Nubuck leather has a gently buffed surface with no grains. As with velvet, brushing the surface of nubuck leather displaces the fibers and leaves a visible mark. Nubuck leather is very sensitive to moisture and color, and it therefore needs to be waterproofed.

INSOLE: NATURAL LEATHER
Natural leather can be recognized by its untreated surface. BIRKENSTOCK purposely does not treat surface grains and other characteristic features. BIRKENSTOCK uses sturdy leather with a thickness of 2.8 to 3.2 millimeters as upper material.

FOOTBED MATERIAL: CORK
Cork is a sustainable material extracted from the bark layer of the cork oak. This natural product is insulating and offers very good cushioning.

OUTSOLE: EVA
EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) is a high-quality, very light, elastic material with extremely good cushioning. As a result, it smooths out slight irregularities in the floor and ensures that every step is softly cushioned.
